Texting was reported to be the cause of accident which caused minor injuries and DWI charges for a New Bremen woman, Lewis County Sheriff's Deputies report that 21 year old Rachael M. Stelmach became distracted while texting whendriving her car on the Number Three Road Friday evening. Her 2011 Hyundai struck a guardrail then came to rest in a ditch after exiting the roadway. She was transported to Lewis County General Hospital by Lewis County Search and rescue and treated for minor injuries. While deputies were interviewing Stelmach, they detected a strong odor of alcohol and a blood sample was taken to determine her blood alcohol content. She was then issued appearance tickets for Driving while intoxicated, failure to keep right, and operating a vehicle while using a portable electronic devise. All three tickets are returnable to the Town of Denmark Court at a later date.
