National Grid heating customers received some good news this week.
The utility has come out with its 2012 heating forecast and it appears the
price for natural gas will be lower this year. Over the course of the heating season, which is from November to March, based on an average winter, a typical heating bill should be about $21 less than last year for the same amount of usage. A National Grid spokesperson stated that that the company is comfortable with its forecast of lower natural gas bills based on current market conditions and the way that the utility buys natural gas to reduce volatility, but they caution it's not a guarantee, as the weather's impact could be quite significant.
