Martha B. Pritchard

December 15, 1922 to February 24, 2013

Ava- Martha B. Pritchard, 90, of the West Ava Road, died February 24, 2013 at Sunset Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Boonville.

She was born in Rome, NY on December 15, 1922, a daughter of Charles and Hazel Finster Beckley. She grew up in Lee Center and attended rural schools. In 1943 she married Richard Pritchard in Walla Walla, Washington. The couple operated a farm on the West Ava Road for many years. He died in March of 1982. She was a member of the Point Rock United Methodist Church.

Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-laws, Viola and Bob Pratt, Ava and Irene and Mike Smith, Cleveland, NY; one sister-in-law, Gladys Pritchard, Lee Center ; six grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Martha was predeceased by one daughter, Carol; two brothers Jessie and John Beckley; two sisters, Cora Nemo and Millie Zalepeski.

The family extends a heart- felt thank you to Sunset Nursing Home Staff for all the wonderful care shown to Martha over the past two years.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at 4 p.m. at Mills Funeral Home, 301 Post Street, Boonville with Reverend Debra Wollaber officiating. Calling hours will be from 1-4 p.m. prior to the service. Spring burial will be in the Ava Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Central Association for the Blind & Visually Impaired, 507 Kent Street, Utica, NY 13501.
