LOWVILLE – Genowefa “Genny” Winiarski, 90, formerly of Valley View, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2013. Genny was born on May 3, 1923, to Frank and Josephine Barczak in her native country of Poland where she was educated prior to WWII. She was married to John Winiarski in 1945, in Germany and came to the United States in 1951. The couple settled in Brooklyn for about one year before moving to Tug Hill. In 1966, they moved to Lowville where Genny cleaned for various families. Mr. Winiarski died in 1992. Surviving Genny are her children, Sophie, Mary, John, Henry, Stanley and Linda; her grandchildren; great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter; and her sister, Helen. She was predeceased by her brother, Stanley. A graveside service will be conducted at the Lowville Rural Cemetery on Friday morning May 24th at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Anthony Bradseth, Pastor of the Lowville Baptist Church, officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials in Genny’s name may be made to: Hospice & Palliative Care, 4277 Middle Settlement Road, New Hartford, NY 13413.
